Solo Show, Family workshop and Artist Talk

This exhibtion takes the audience on a journey through her research-based practice and a process of learning to fly, photographically, which began over 10 years ago along Weston-super-Mare promenade.
Film, photography and installation work are displayed in this solo show showcasing new photographic and film work alongside artwork from Rio, Brazil.

Join the artist Sarah Crew, as she artist explores our changing experience and understanding of the photographic image, the human, the animal and the landscape, as they all seek to co-exist in the increasingly dualistic landscape of the physical and virtual environments.

This playful talk offers an alternative visual and sensory journey to explore notions of lostness and the tricky act of remaining located, whilst never leaving the ground. In doing so you are invited to have your boarding card ready, take your seat, and take flight to explore unchartered territories offering everyone the chance to reclaim land, locate the image or simply just get lost.​

Tickets: £5 fee - avaliable from LT Gallery or at the Museum, with cash, card or cheque.

This is a free drop-in family art workshop exploring the changing landscape of Rio through the eyes of the public culminating in a collective hanging umbrella installation in the grounds of the museum.  Further information in Portuguese is here



Parque Lage International Seminar in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

: The Role of Art Schools and Universities

1st and 2nd April, 2016. From 10.00 – 18.00 

This 2 day seminar, designed by the School of Visual Arts of Parque Lage (Rio de Janeiro), is the first of a series of initiatives aimed at questioning and improving art schools, their different curricula and their approaches to teaching and learning. During which Sarah will be one of the artist presenting her residency project and discussing the impact of the residency programme.

Despina Artist Residency 

1st - 31st March, 2016. Largo Das Artes, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Sarah is one of four selected graduates from Central Saint Martins, London, who will be taking part in this funded residency programme. During her stay she will run a family arts education workshop, give artist talks and explore the reclaimed lands of Rio. A new project - the Chaos Cosmetic Surgery Company was formed from her time in Brazil.  A blog about their residency, workshops and research is here

 Largo Das Artes - Saara Nights
